MICROTOX®

NECK BANDS

Botox Cosmetic can provide a non-surgical means of rejuvenating the aging neck. As we age, certain dynamic muscles in the neck can become more prominent, often causing wrinkles, lines, and an aged appearance. Fortunately, Botox helps relax these hyperactive muscles which provide the neck with a more youthful and tighter appearance. Our master injectors at Renewal Skin Spa specialize in Botox for neck wrinkles among other treatable conditions via Botox and would love to meet with you to discuss your concerns.

How Does Botox for the Neck Work?

We all have a pair of vertical neck bands, known as platysma muscle bands, at the front and sides of the neck. In part of a natural aging process, the vertical bands become more noticeable due to the fact that they are very frequently in use. Dynamic muscles like these commonly increase in size after years of hyperactivity. Additionally, our skin loses volume and becomes more lax as we age, making the neck bands more prominent and causing the neck to appear older.

Botox, when injected into a muscle, stops some of the neural signals from being transmitted thus relaxing the muscle’s hyperactivity. When injected into the vertical bands of the neck, Botox can relax the dynamic muscles, making them less prominent, and resulting in a smoother, younger looking neck. The results can generally last 4-6 months. The procedure, as with any Botox treatment, can be repeated when the results begin to wear off.

CHIN DIMPLING

Many people have chin dimpling, which is often referred to as “orange peel chin”. Dimples result from repetitive movements of the underlying mentalis muscle over time, and Botox can be very effective in relaxing this muscle for smoothing the skin. Most patients can see improvement soon after treatment, and the results can last up to six months. A few strategically placed injections of Botox in the chin area can decrease or eliminate chin dimpling. The treatment leads to a forced relaxation of the muscle in the chin and can smooth out the dimpling very effectively.

LIP FLIP

By strategically injecting a small amount of Botox cosmetic under the nose, Botox cosmetic can give the top lip a “lifted” appearance. This result can last anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 months. A lip flip can give you the lip you have been looking for without the use of fillers for some clients. Some clients may require a combination of filler and Botox to achieve a desired look. Combination therapy is usually necessary by clients with smaller and or clients with lines or wrinkles for optimum correction.

GUMMY SMILE

With just a few strategically placed injections you can relax the overactive muscles responsible for pulling on the upper lip causing the gums to show when smiling.

HYPERHIDROSIS (excessive sweating)

Discover relief from sweating. For some people sweating can go into overdrive. With just one treatment you can have drier underarms for up to 200 day.

How does it work?

BOTOX® temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. When the sweat glands don’t receive chemical signals, severe sweating is reduced.

Where does the sweat go?

Sweat doesn’t go anywhere or get backed up because it’s simply not produced in the areas treated with BOTOX^®. Sweat will continue to be produced elsewhere.

JAW MUSCLES (to achieve a heart shaped face)

BOTOX® in the jaw muscles is a simple and easy way to achieve a more rounded jaw. This is a popular treatment in our office as some women have a more dominant more defined jaw muscle. After a few injections into the masseter muscle the area is relaxed to offer the appearance of a smoother jaw line. Botox in this area can also help with clenching and teeth grinding.  This is achieved by simply relaxing the masseter muscle responsible for the clenching and grinding with a few injections of Botox or Dysport.
